Why not just use Dropbox or Google Drive?
Mainstream drives keep every file whole, on one company's servers, readable by that company. That is the property that makes scanning, indexing, and breaches possible. Untrace removes the whole file from existence anywhere:
- No provider can read, scan, or index your files, because no provider ever holds one whole
- A breach at any single node yields a fragment that is meaningless on its own
- Stolen ciphertext has no future decryption path below the shard threshold, whatever hardware arrives later
- A familiar drive: upload, folders, sharing, without the reading-your-files part
